Faithfulness~

Few things happen to people around me which started my thinking about faithfulness with friends, spouse or family members... What really is faithfulness? You can report to your partner every now and then but still remain unfaithful to that person. You can also not contact each other but stay as faithful, keeping on to those little promises made! How deep is my faithfulness with friends, and people around me will determine how faithful I'll be in any relationships next time. INCLUDING the one with God.

Remember I used to be the one flagging for cabs when I'm out with my family. Once, there was a taxi I flagged from opposite lane and it was very obvious that the driver's U-turning to pick us. But the time for it to reach us cost us 3 passing Taxis. I was tempted to just flag for the ones before that slow cab finally reaches us. Scolded for the thought of it, of coz -..-!! But I learnt that in small things like these, we have to stay faithful, in order to be a faithful person.

A faithful person restricts him/herself intentionally. They PURPOSELY give up their rights to do things which seems reasonable to do. You don't need examples, do you? (Think yourself...) They intiatively surrender their rights to another, they stop doing what they used to be able to and what they enjoyed to. There's one thing about faithfulness: It takes no faithfulness to do something you like to!

It takes no faithfulness to eat. Anyone has called you a "faithful-eater"? Or a "faithful-sleeper"? DUH. You know what I mean? Only when we CONSISTENTLY do things which we usually wouldn't, or didn't like, can we be called faithful.

We are smart. We can hide so many things from people we are accountable to, our brothers and sisters... Our friends, our partners, our spouse. We don't have to lie to hide, we just have to not say anything to lie. RW once said, "A spouse don't have to commit adultry to be unfaithful." All we have to do may just be in our thoughts to be unfaithful. Similary, we don't have to backstab our friends to be unfaithful. All it takes to be unfaithful is to not stand up for our friends when they needed us to!

Faithfulness is a tough work. But if we can't treat people man with faithfulness, can we be faithful to God? It's faithfulness that God is finding when we're eventually facing our Lord. Remember He left His workers with different amount of money and IS going to come back? He'll be back! And we'll all be suprised that we don't have to be wicked to be called "lazy and evil". If we didn't make good use of what the Lord has given, sit there and just WAIT, God's going to judge us as LAZY AND EVIL. That's harsh, but that's God.

Never too late to start being faithful, in the smallest things in life. Call back when we've said "I'll call back". Pray for them after saying "You're in my prayers". Try your BEST when you promised to! We have to make what we promised count, to be faithful. We have to be responsible to others' feelings, to be faithful. We can't just sit and wait for God to do something about it. Being faithful is start doing good things which you feel weird doing, consistently. Being faithful is making an effort to do what's right when no one's doing, and consistently NOT doing what's wrong but everyone's doing.
WHA~ What great effort needed...

Indeed, we need the Lord's Spirit to be faithful.
It's the Fruit of Spirit afterall, remember?

Oneday, you'll stand before the justice of the Lord. This has nothing to do with satan anymore.

You face yourself.
Your sins.
Your actions.
Your words.
Your beliefs.
Your blasphemy.
Your irreverence to Jesus.

But it isn't too late to repent. Because although God hates sins, He loves sinners. He loves us. Jesus, the only way to eternity, to real love, joy and hope!
