I miss...

I used to not realise why foreigners who came here to work or study will spend their precious weekends fighting their ways through long jams, endure the heat and horns, just to go back home for less than 24hrs to visit their family. The others merely "fly" around like nobody's business, sometimes for gatherings, other times for celebratory meals together with parents and siblings.

In fact I used to say to someone that if I were them, I may consider going back only during the holidays. Well, shouldn't we at least make the traveling worth by making sure the "stay at home" time is longer than the "traveling" time? That's why mum always say I'm very heartless.

But, just as mentioned. I used to. Meaning, I no longer think so. Or should I say I'm starting to understand? "If we put a drop of water on a rock in the sunshine, it will soon evaporate. But in the ocean, it will never be lost." --Pema Chodron

Invest not in books, work, company, schools... But in people. Parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, classmates, spouses, colleagues. Because on rock, the droplet evaporates. It'll fail our investment. But whenever in ocean, investment is never lost.

If you are taking your O levels, diagnosed with terminal disease dying in 6 months time, will you still worry about your exams? Or will you, in that situation, still worry about your work performance and your upcoming promotion? Guess neither will you be very interested with your bank balance...

But why do we live everyday the opposite of what we'll do when we really start cherishing life? Heard people brag about working life being exciting, different and an eye-opener to views. Some say they find themselves value-added job rotating or enriched by useless-knowledge; useful-certificates education provides.

What a pathetic world that I'm living in. If not for the fear of facing Him without results, where's the purpose for another breath? Every man fails each other sooner or later, nothing last forever. If not in Christ that we pin our hopes on, meeting death is a bliss.
